Over the last 40 years, I've been helping Youth Hockey Players from Mite to Midget achieve their hockey dreams of playing College and Professional Hockey.
Sure, this About Page shares a little bit about me, but it's really about YOU.
It's about how you can leverage the knowledge and experience I've gained over the years to finally break through the hockey maze and help your player achieve their hockey dreams and the results you know they are capable of.

My love of the game is a direct result of my neighborhood friends and I skating on Windsor's Pond at the end of my street, the Erie Canal, a short walk away, and eventually our backyard rink, a labor of love by the entire neighborhood each fall. My High School Coach was Don Cherry. He became one of my Father's best friends. Their fishing trips to our cottage on Wolfe Island outside Kingston, Ontario, resulted in his building a cottage next to ours and becoming our summer neighbor for the last 50 years.
Over 40 Years ago, I started my Youth Hockey Coaching and Training journey shortly before my first of 4 kids was born. I have always been interested in player development and spent many hours coaching and running camps and clinics and learning from various other professionals, including Neurologists, Cardiologists, Nutritionists, and Sports Performance Specialists. Over all the years I have spent 2 to 5 years coaching at each age group from Mite through Midget and 7 years coaching the RIT Women's College Hockey Team. When my two boys retired from professional hockey, we got together with their sister and formed the Evolve Hockey Training Center.
THE CRISIS:

During my kid's youth hockey journey, I, like most parents, loved watching them play games. Winter Teams spread into Spring Leagues which spread into Summer Tournament Teams, and soon, we were a year-round hockey family. We started traveling to tournaments and most family vacations revolved around the kid's hockey tournaments.
We were caught up in the games games games mentality. Only when my kids were on to Prep and College Hockey did I truly understand what a problem that mindset can be. I was fortunate to have a couple of families with parents who never played hockey to reel me back in and keep things in perspective. I now realize my game mentality is a development killer for young players, and I almost fell into that trap.
THE PURSUIT:

Like many other Hockey Coaching and Training Professionals, I acquired much of my coaching and training knowledge from Coaching and Training various age groups and ability levels. What sets me apart from most is the research I have done. I have interviewed thousands of Hockey Parents and Coaches who have had their players play College and Professional Hockey. Where did they play? What did they do, and how did they do it?
There were some surprising trends. I also have read over 300 books on subjects related to youth sports skill development and how Habits are formed and changed or modified. I also read every John Wooden book and became certified in teaching the Wooden Pyramid of Success Program. I continue to read and attend workshops regularly, and our Evolve Training Programs continue to produce the top youth players in our area. Over 400 players I have coached or trained at some point in their development have gone on to play College or Professional Hockey.

The game is played differently then it was even ten years ago. A style of play that was successful then will not create opportunities today.
Today, I have the honor of working with a fantastic community of Game-Changers. It is our full-time job to not only stay current with the changes in the game but also to improve development methods for all ages and ability levels.
And I want to share our knowledge with you...
Imagine if you finally had a clear path for your player...
What if you knew they were on a path to maximize their skill development and simultaneously acquire a genuine love of the game? What would your life look like if you could relax and enjoy your time at the rink while no longer worrying about whether you're doing the right thing for your player...
The next step is up to you. Click the button below to get the process started.
